Best canned clams I've ever used
My local grocery store has stopped stocking Crown Prince canned clams and I'm forced to buy them online instead. I've opened cans side by side with Snow's and have been shocked that the Crown Prince cans contain more than twice as much clam meat, drained, than Snow's. In addition, the Crown Prince clams are pink and look cleaner than Snow's. I actually opened, drained and weighed a number of cans of each variety so I'm sure it wasn't a fluke. Top to learn more
Imported from Chile, our Chopped Clams are light in color and delicate in flavor. These clams are a fat-free food and provide an excellent source of protein and a good source of iron. Try them in dips, pasta sauces and chowders. Go top to learn more
And every few years, we’re able to get out onto Prince William Sound during big tides and harvest small clams we call beach cockles. Some summers we’re able to harvest a lot of razor clams. Making your own sundried tomatoes is also not impossible, but I seldom wind up with so many tomatoes that I have spare ones to dry for later.
But if you want a more flavorful clam dish as well as the savory stock from cooking the clams in, adding a few more complimentary ingredients will really enhance your dish. I like to toss in some fresh chopped parsley and add a couple squeezes of lemon juice to brighten the whole dish up. I love how when a few ingredients pulled together can transform a dish into something wonderful. What you’ll want to do is melt a couple tablespoons of butter, add some minced ginger and garlic, followed by some Oyster sauce, chicken broth, and some clams. I have this thing where I cannot resist buying clams if they are fresh and on sale. The beauty of preparing steamed clams is that it is very hard to screw up. At a minimum, all you need is a little bit of butter, garlic, and chicken broth. The broth complimented the hearty leafy vegetable in such a surprising way that I saved all the remaining broth and used it to braise more Swiss chard for my next night’s dinner – so good. A couple days ago while pushing my cart pass the seafood case, Jason quickly pointed out he had little steamer clams on sale.
Whole or Round Fish – 3/4 pound Dressed Fish – 1/2 pound Fillets and Steaks – 1/3 pound Oysters and Clams, in the shell – 6 Oysters and Clams, shucked – 1/6 pint Scallops – 1/4 pound Crab, cooked meat – 1/4 pound Crabs, live – 1 to 2 pounds... If I’m going to cook fish for six people, I might buy six small fillets, three medium fillets or two large ones that can be cut into six serving-size pieces. Most people can look at fillets and visualize how many will be needed to feed a certain number of people, but they can’t visualize the size of one-fourth or one-third of a pound. In these recipes we have allowed one-fourth to one-third pound per person. I’ve watched countless people in the seafood market look at fish and ask for a certain number of pieces.
He barely has any music on iTunes (yes I still buy my music) but it’s worth doing some digging online to find his stuff. My little brother is turning 5 on Saturday so I get to spend my day eating pizza and playing games with a bunch of little rugrats at Chuck E Cheese. I had to do a little digging to find the track and stumbled across a wide and interesting range of collaborations. I LOVE how New Jersey beat master Clams Casino, aka Mike Volpe, manipulates the female voice.

In addition to their farm share, Sea Salt shareholders can also purchase a share in the local fishing community, in exchange for a weekly share of seafood during the harvesting season. This is not an entirely new concept, Flimlin said.

Residents and visitors have another chance to get their limit of razor clams as fishery managers have approved a morning dig April 7-9 after marine toxin tests came back safe. Long Beach, Twin Harbors and Kalaloch will be open for morning razor clam

Clams: They come in a wide range of sizes, the larger the tougher. Big ones are usually chopped and used in chowders. Smaller clams are typically steamed. They must be closed when you buy them; if they're open they're probably dead and rotting.
